Aviation Growth Cancelled Due to Climate Change!?
The aviation sector is the world’s fastest growing greenhouse gas emitter and one of the most polluting sectors. By 2050, carbon emissions will quadruple. While only 7 % of global population ever sat in an airplane, others are bearing the costs. Hundreds of airports are being built or extended. Also the Vienna airport wants a third runway.
This is why one main focus of our climate movement is to stop the Vienna airport expansion, to support others in their struggles against airport projects, and to tackle aviation growth in general.
